“WITHOUT MUSIC, LIFE WOULD BE A MISTAKE”
Friedrich Nietzsche
The Music Department is divided into four sections: Early Music, Lyrical Music, Symphonic Music and Percussion.
The study of music theory and specific instrumental techniques is compulsory for all courses in each section; the hours allocated to these courses may vary depending on the course chosen.
The curriculum is organised in a flexible cycle, with progression by level, depending on participation and the results of continuous assessment and level progression tests. The units of value (UV) specific to transdisciplinarity are obtained through sessions in the form of placements, thus allowing the validation of the exam.
AIDA-LÉMAN follows the official curriculum for instrumental studies of the Canton of Vaud - Foundation for Music Education (FEM).

The theoretical musical training course, a true educational unit, is seen above all as a place of culture that allows the child, adolescent or adult to initiate the ear and learn the musical language in all its forms.

Our goals for the orchestra are multiple and vary. According to the students involved in the annual project, it is important to bring their desires together towards their personal development but also towards group cohesion in a global artistic approach.
Among the primary objectives, we can cite:
The orchestra contributes to the dynamism of the artistic life of the academy and to the creation of an internal social bond within the institution. On a larger scale, it is also among the protagonists in initiating exchanges with local and regional actors.
